The international jury consists of eight major figures in the field of visual communication design and from various countries of the world.

Jury decisions taken by the majority of members are unquestionable and will be reported in a record filed with Aiap and put online on the AWDA website.

    She is co-founder and director at studio thonik, International President at AGI, tutor at the masters of Design Academy Eindhoven and guest lecturer. thonik specializes in graphic design, interaction design and motion design. They work for a wide variety of cultural institutions (Nanjing Youth Festival, Museum Boijmans van Beuningen, the Holland Festival). The studio is also active in the public sector and works for the Amsterdam public library and VPRO. thonik has had international solo exhibitions. Their work is in the permanent collection of various museums.

He is an environmental graphic designer and has many years of experience as a practicing designer, educator and activist in the international design community. He was the first President of the Israel Community of Designers, Israel's national multidisciplinary professional design association and a Past President of Icograda.

    He is an Associate Professor at Industrial Design Centre (IDC), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Bombay and he is the coordinator of the Communication Design. His research focuses on organization and efficient arrangement of information in various domains of communication design. He specializes in visual identity design, publication design and user interface design. From many years his work is academic as well as professional.

    He was born 1973 in Hangzhou (China) and now he lives in Berlin, working as a graphic designer, professor and publisher and is also a member of AGI. He studied Graphic Design at the China Academy of Art, did his Master of Fine Arts at the Berlin University of the Arts and had his PhD of Cultural History at the Free University of Berlin. He has been teaching as a guest professor at the Berlin University of the Arts and also as the doctoral supervisor at the China Academy of Art. In 2002, he established his own design studio and publishing house, “hesign”, based in Berlin with the other branch in Hangzhou since 2008.

    Reza Abedini (1967) lives and works between Iran, Lebanon and the Netherlands. Graduated in Graphic Design from the School of Fine Arts, and Painting at Tehran Art University. Since 1989 he has pursued a career as graphic designer, founding the Reza Abedini Studio in Iran in 1993, Orien+ationlab in The Netherlands in 2009. He is also a founder of the Dabireh collaborative project, which is a platform for the Persian writing system, calligraphy and typography. Abedini is a graphic Designer creating work that contains many historical references, which harks back to portrait painting and photographs from the Qajar period.He emphasizes the relationship between visual tradition and modern identity, encourages research in the rich history of Persian art and nurtures talent in the younger generations.

    Design historian and critic, she stresses her background in Humanities and has a ‘militant’ approach to decorative arts or arts applied to Industrial Design, of which she has also investigated unexplored areas, such as women’s design, as the co-founder and president of Associazione D come Design. Following her interest in education (she’s a teacher at the Brera Academy and from 2010 to 2016 she was president of ISIA – the University of design of Faenza), she published La formazione del designer in Italia (Marsilio, 2015).
    From 2012 to 2015 on the Board of Directors of the Design Museum Foundation, since 2016 she has been a member of the Scientific Committee of the same body.

    She is researcher professor, Aiap Past President, architect and graphic designer. Her worldwide research in design has given her special insights into the relations and historical perspectives of design, in particular, Chinese and Asian design. Besides her design work, she writes on visual communication, teaches and holds lectures at international conferences and several Italian universities and design schools. She is also IIID member, Vice President POLI.design, creator and scientific curator of Aiap Design Per and Juries member in international design competitions.

    Visual communication designer, she lives in Apulia. In her work as a freelance professional over the years she has been involved in several different areas: from editorial design (she was a long-time book-cover designer for Mondadori) to visual consulting for cultural events; from political and institutional communication to archigraphics; from packaging to branding for private companies. For Aiap she has curated, among other things, the Millennials and AWDA 2nd edition exhibitions, as well as the 2015 and 2017 editions of Aiap Design Per, International Graphic Design Week.
